Marijuana Bills Introduced in N.C.G.A for the Last 10 Years

Overview

In the last 10 years there have been 10 marijuana reform bills introduced, 8 in the House and 2 in the Senate. All 10 of those bills have been for medical marijuana. All 10 have never made it past the first committee. Out of 41 Standing House Committees, there are 6 main committees that medical marijuana bills get sent to. Those are the committee members we must focus our coordinated action on. They have already shown us their cards in that aspect. Are those committee members out at an event? Are those candidates up for reelection? If so, let’s put them on the hot seat at every opportunity on this issue. “Mr. Representative’s aide (committee member), we would like to set up a meeting between you and (previous medical bill sponsor) to discuss the medical marijuana bill that might be coming to the table in 2018.”  Politically, those committee members are the ones stopping these bills, by sitting on them and letting them die. Those are the people that deserve our full political attention in 2018.
